Management of samples

The GIGA Histology and immunohistology facility is available to researches interested in producing samples for frozen or paraffin-embedded sections of tissues, coloration, immunostaining or in situ hydridisation.

The treatments are :

• Embedding into Paraffin with the Processor for paraffin infiltration of tissues (ASP300S, Leica) and the tissue embedding machine (EG1150, Leica)

This includes stepwise dehydration in a graded alcohol series, transfer to xylol, as well as paraffin, sample orientation and embedding;

It is also possible to realise the embedding with a new protocol without xylol

• Cryoembedding               

It is also possible to realize thin-layer cell preparation from cell suspensions (cytocentrifugation).
